Yuri was abandoned to a shelter back in March 2019 when she was about a month old, and she was super scared of humans then. A group of volunteers rescued Yuri out of the shelter and through a series of desensitizing training and socialization, Yuri has gradually regained confidence, and is now awaiting a permanent family of her own.
Yuri is great with human she trusts and dog friends. She likes being acknowledged (calling her name) before getting pets. She takes a bit longer to warm up to strangers, and gets startled if they moved too suddenly or held long objects in their hand. She’s more nervous around kids, but allows them to pet her when she’s on leash. She loves playing with all dogs, especially ones around her size. Yuri has a friendly curiosity toward cats and would try to play with them. Yuri is house-trained and likes doing her business outside on grass. She has no food aggression toward anyone or any dog, and is a slow eater (compared to her foster siblings). She loves treats, and that is a great starting point of building a relationship with her! Yuri is prone to car-sickness and needs further training on keeping her balance during car-rides. Yuri is on the smaller side of medium-sized and about fully-grown!
