Rita and her eight littermates were born to a stray mother, and this is her third litter to date. The local homeless people under the bridge are quite abusive toward the strays and would pick them up and abandon them in different places. One of the homeless people even locked up the puppies to prevent the mom from feeding, and so the rescuer decided to take the mom and all her puppies back to be placed with fosters. All 10 dogs are healthy and under good care, and the puppies are now ready to find their permanent homes!
Rita is great with other dogs and loves to play with her doggie friends, though dogs that are bigger than her sometimes scares her and she will need to observe them first before interacting with them. Rita is a snuggling girl with people she trusts. Rita is good with children who knows how to be gentle with dogs and she will stay away from loud/active children. With strangers, she will need some time to warm up to them and it takes longer time when it comes to male strangers. Offering her delicious treats is the best way to earn her trust to show that you are a nice person! Go slow, gentle, use treats and no sudden or big movements and she’ll relax more. She loves food and she doesn't guard her food towards people nor other dogs. Rita is currently learning potty training and she knows to use the pee tray when indoor. Rita is well-behaved during car-rides and during bath time. Rita is indifferent to cats and she doesn't mind the cats when they sit next to her either. Rita will grow to be medium-sized when fully grown, possibly between 35lbs-40lbs.
