Rafa and his eight littermates were born to a stray mother, and this is her third litter to date. The local homeless people under the bridge are quite abusive toward the strays and would pick them up and abandon them in different places. One of the homeless people even locked up the puppies to prevent the mom from feeding, and so the rescuer decided to take the mom and all her puppies back to be placed with fosters. All 10 dogs are healthy and under good care, and the puppies are now ready to find their permanent homes in Vancouver!
Rafa is a bit shy to start, but he loves cuddling with and getting loved by his human after he gets to know them. He’s the same in a group of dogs, and usually takes a few minutes before opening up to a play. No doubt the same goes to strangers – Rafa would need some time before getting close to people he doesn’t know. Rafa loves playing with kids and cats, however, and gives 100% affection to his family. He is a bit sensitive to loud noises, and has no food aggression toward anyone. Rafa will need further training on being left alone to prevent separation anxiety. He is ok being in a crate, so that might help with training him to be alone. Rafa likes going on walks and doing his business outside. He’s currently teething, so might still chew on stuff for a while. This adorable boy is now ready to join a patient and loving family!
